Methods for Removing Fractured Endodontic Instruments in Root Canal : A Brief Systematic Review

Introduction: In the scenario of endodontic treatment, fracture instrument complicates procedure by obstructing debridement, delaying completion and affecting patient's dental experience. When a file fractures during root canal several treatment options are available. Fractured instruments inhibit optimal cleaning filling canals. Objective: To carry out brief systematic review study to present main clinical outcomes different types techniques for removing fragments in Methods: The rules Systematic Review-PRISMA Platform were followed. research was carried from November 2020 January 2021 developed based on Scopus, PubMed, SCIENCE DIRECT. quality studies GRADE risk bias analyzed according Cochrane instrument. Results: A total 132 articles found involving removal instruments. 80 evaluated full 30 included study. It has been that probability successful fractured is reported range 53 95%, with more than 80% being removed use ultrasound. Also, long (0.4 mm) can adsorb ultrasonic energy hinder its loosening. Nickel-titanium (NiTi) their pseudo-elasticity, especially newly heat-treated NiTi ductile flexible compared conventional NiTi2.
